Tax planning

Tax planning that looks ahead

Good planning happens before the tax year ends, not after. We look at your whole picture and find legitimate ways to reduce what you pay.

For directors, sole traders, landlords and families.

What we look at

  • Salary and dividend mix for company directors
  • Pension contributions as a tax-efficient extraction
  • Capital Gains Tax on property, shares and business sales
  • Research and development tax relief
  • Use of allowances between spouses and civil partners
  • Inheritance tax awareness and planning

2026/27 figures worth knowing

  • Personal Allowance: £12,570, reduced above £100,000 of income
  • Dividend tax: 10.75% basic, 35.75% higher, 39.35% additional, with a £500 allowance
  • Capital Gains Tax: 18% within the basic rate band and 24% above it, with a £3,000 annual exempt amount

How we work

We review your position before key dates, explain the options in plain terms and only recommend what genuinely fits your circumstances. No schemes, no aggressive avoidance.

Common questions

When is the best time to plan?

Before 5 April each year, and before any big decision such as selling property, taking a dividend or changing structure.

Do you recommend tax avoidance schemes?

No. We only use legitimate allowances and reliefs that HMRC expects you to claim.

Can you help when selling a property?

Yes. We work out the Capital Gains Tax, check reliefs and make sure the 60-day reporting deadline for UK residential property is met.

Is planning only for high earners?

No. Claiming the right allowances and timing income well helps at every level.
