Corporation Tax rates

19% small profits rate for profits up to £50,000
25% main rate for profits over £250,000
Marginal Relief for profits between £50,000 and £250,000
Thresholds are reduced for short accounting periods and associated companies

Key deadlines

Corporation Tax payment: 9 months and 1 day after your year end
Accounts to Companies House: 9 months after your year end
Company Tax Return (CT600): 12 months after your year end
Confirmation statement: at least once every 12 months

Can you take over from my current accountant?

Yes. We handle the handover, request the records we need and make sure nothing is missed in the switch.

Should I pay myself salary or dividends?

Usually a mix. Dividend tax is 10.75% at basic rate and 35.75% at higher rate, with a £500 allowance, so we model the best split for your situation.

Do you work with dormant companies?

Yes. Dormant accounts and confirmation statements are simple, and we keep them on time.

Which software do you use?

We specialise in Xero, and also work with QuickBooks, Sage and FreeAgent.
